Default Paint coverage under warranty?

Hey everyone, Im a new stang owner, I have a 2002 Stang with 18K miles.

I was washing my car today and a huge chip of paint came off my hood. About a half dollar size. I was ****ing pissed.

Since in still under the 36K factory warranty, Will ford cover this? has anyone had this happen to them?

You won't likely get anything out of your warranty for chipped paint. About the only time you can get paint work under warranty is if its peeling off or something thats OBVIOUSLY a defect. Chippped or scratched paint won't be covered.

update:

the 99-04 gts with the fiberglass/composite hood can be painted under warranty.

I stoped by a big dealership with a body shop in house and they told me that hood has a adhesion problem and they say its common for a large chip to come off like that.

They scheduled me in for the aug 16th to completely strip the hood and repaint.
