I have a 1996 Gt convertable with a tan vinyl top. Recently I have been noticing lots of black spots on it, They are pretty small but they seem to occour in patches. At first there was only a few of them, but now they seem to be spreading over the entire top. I am thinking that its mildew. Ive scrubbed and scrubbed at them with soap and water but they wont come off.
Has this ever happened to anyone, or does anyone know how I can get rid of them ?

If it is determined to be mildew they make removers as well as protectants to put on after you clean it.
