Default Hood Q

When I first got my 03 stang, I didn't really like the hood too much (picture below), it just didn't hit me the right way. But after going to a few places and people actually liking it, and me noticing that not another mustang (that I have seen anyway) has a hood like this, it grew on me. I'm not sure if its taped on, or bolted on (havent checked under the hood, but I know you can).

My question is, half opinion, does anyone have any experience with whats on my hood? My uncles friend has the same color mustang as me, but is getting rid of his hood scoop (I know there overdone, but I like the look of it until I can get my new hood, and besides, its free), and I wanted to put it on, but I dont know if I should drill through the black part of the hood. I don't think it should be any different, it should just be more to drill, but you can't undo drilling, and I dont want my hood to look like crap.

The second part of the Q (the opinion part): Should I get a silver scoop? Or a black one and get a black vinyl to black out the space between my black "V" and the hood scoop?

It's a little hard to tell by the pic but it kinda looks like you have one of those reverse vent type hoods?
I think your hood looks good the way it is it's unique, never seen one like it. Putting a hood scoop on might make it a little odd looking IMO ??

If that is a reverse vent hood, the scoop probably wouldnt fit right. But i would go ahead and get the scoop (since it is free) and just set it on there to see what it looks like, and if it will fit. If it doesn't you can always sell it on Ebay and make a bit of profit.

its a V6 right?

i would say go on Ebay and find 99-04 mustang hood.

i think they're in NM, so you may be able to make a drive and pick it up for a great deal.

dont put a scoop on a reverse hood.
I feel your pain though!

hope it goes well!

I have decided to keep the hood just the way it is after all (turns out my uncles hood scoop was like all messed up anyway).

Thanks for all the input everyone!
