Default Side running decal removal

I have a 2000 GT and was wondering how much trouble it would be to get rid of the black strips on the bottom of either side of my car. Would the paint be too faded to do this easily or would it just not be worth it? I want them gone, but if the paint isn't going to match it may just not be worth it. I don't know whether it matters or not, but my car when I bought it in July only had 20,000 miles on it and was very well taken care of.

Anyways, thanks in advance for anybody's help!

You may have some fade issues. The stripe may be low enough where it may not be noticeable. I'm not a big fan of the stripes either. It's not hard to remove them. You need a heat gun or hair dryer, and some fishing line. Heat up the decal slowly and work the fishing line under it and peel it back. You'll need a product like 3M adhesive remover to get the leftovers off. Make sure you wax the area when your done.

I think you will be fine on the fading, I would use a eracer wheel on a air tool..if you dont have one maybe a body shop could do it for you.
