Default Need Help with Bodywork??

I have a 92 Mustang GT and I decided that it's time to do some bodywork on it, Whats the best way to strip the paint?? Whats the best kind of body filler to get, and what sand paper would I use? What tools would I need? Sorry for all the questions, just want to do it right. Thanks

Default RE: Need Help with Bodywork??

Hey there, im just now doing body work on my 87 stang. I would first have and air supply, and get a DA or sander. I used 80 grit paper at first to get the old crappy paint off, its good for that. Once you get down to the leve you want, rather it be the steel or down to original primer i would stop. my car had like 5 different colors on it so it was easy to tell when to stop. anyways so get a DA tool i believe it stands for dual action . and 80 grit paper to strip the paint. Than there is a filler/primer that Sherman wiliams makes. its called p-21 its and awesome creation from them. it fill any and all lil and some major scratches and you can use an air sprayer to do it. You would use the p21 on only the metal though, because its not a real flexible filler. SO make sure of that. The sherman williams paint automotive division is the only place to make it. Its really good but doesnt have a long shelf life which sucks. you would also have to get some 180 and some 220 grit to block the p21 once ur done filling in ****. after that its all up to finsihing it and preping than going to the paint part. got any questions just ask im in the same process, can get pics if u want.
