what are those lights on newer cars that are annoyingly bright but look cool? they are on only nice newer cars like lexus's, mercedes, and beamers.

Default Need advice!

I have a '97 V6 Coupe in Teal (Pacific Green I've heard it called before? At any rate, I'm not sure of the official name ). My deal is, like most older late model Stangs, the headlights are yellowed and ugly!

I am looking at buying new headlights with my Christmas bonus.
I like these options, the black cobra look really does it for me.

However, I have to have an orange blinker in Oregon. How do you bypass this when all of these kits are completely clear? Is it easy to stick a bulb in there, or should I not get the black housing and just go for Cobra clear headlights and keep my original corner lights?

Please give me suggestions, I'm lost!
Thanks,
Kristina

Wings... Those lights that are on the newer cars are refered to as HID's, High intensity discharge bulbs. They are much brighter and use less amperage too. They have some kits for a little over 300 on ebay that are plug and play. there are those bulbs that say they are hid's and cost 30 - 40, but they are a waste of money. The kit actualy come with ballests like flouresent bulbs have. They are excellent for seeing at night, and with the clear lens, real bright. They look cool too.

schmazz, more than likeley, the stock corner bulbs will be used with the black housing lights. my lights look almost identical but ultra clear, and i used the stock amber bulb. my stepbrother bought some black housing projectors and corners for his f-150 and he had to reuse his amber bulbs too. it takes about 5 seconds to swap out the bulbs, just twist and pull out.

I know certian comapnies make LED buld replacements the LED is Clear so when it's not in use the corner would be clear but once it is turned on it would glow amber. Might be a way around the law I believe Varad might sell em not sure if they have them for mustang though never really looked.
