Ive got an 85 LX where everything has been touched. Nothing has been left original, and every peice has been replaced or repainted. Im into this project for over 3 years, and im having the car soda blasted, primed, and then painted in Dupont 99K. This is happening in about 2 months when the car is ready. Personaly i feel like Macco can work depending on what your looking for. On the other hand, i have 38k invested into my baby, and im not letting a difference of 2k on a paint job ruin my project.

I used Maaco many yers ago as a 16 year old. I had a 69 Cougar that was really rough. Did all the body work myself in shop class but was afraid to paint it myself and definitely didn't have the money for a custom paint job. Took it to Maaco and it came out looking AWESOME! Got a rock chip a few months later, no biggie, but was spraying it off at the car wash one day and where the rock chip was the paint just flew off!!!![:@]By the time I was done, not a speck of paint left on the car. To make a long story short, they were using some new brand of paint that was really cheap, but required a special primer for the paint to adhere to. Probably like everyone says, each shop is different. But I'd defintely follow someone out of any place I was thinking of and see how they like their paint job!!!

I only heard that they suck, but if Macco is so bad why are they still in business?
It totally depends on each particular franchise. ive seen very nice Charger painted very nicely, he paid big bucks for the paint but it was done at Maaco.
