Default rough surface on paint?

hey guys..

ive had mt alloy gt for about a month now..

i wash it reuglarly once a week and try to wax evertime.. sometimes just spray wax but most of the time the real wax..

well since i got my stang.. i have alpllied two coats of the spray wax (eagle 1).. and washed the car 3-5 times.. well today.. i figures that a month was good enough time to let the paint cure.. so i washed and started to wax.. i waxed the hood and roof.. and stopped bc it was pissing me off how the surface was still really ruough..

i think my next plan is to clay bar.. never done it before.. but read about it..

BUT HERES MY MAIN QUESTION..
..

what the hell is all the little bumpy specs in teh paint that keep it from feeling o so smooth like a new car with coats of wax should feel!?!?!..

would a polish help with this?.. ( i have no idea how to do this and dont want to damage)

thanks guys..

clay bar would be the first thing that you need to do. it pulls out all of the contaminants that are stuck in the clear coat. even on a new car, the paint is going to feel a little rough becuase of all the stuff that got on it during the shipment of the car. but the clay bar should solve this problem. then i would do a polish, and a sealant and a wax on top of that for your first real detail. you want the first coat of wax to be done right. juztang at obsessive detail has some great products for all of that. i just ordered some stuff from him last week and was very happy with it. its really not priced much higher than the stuff you buy at auto zone or whatever. whatever products you decide to use, make sure you start out with a clay bar and then go to the polish and wax route.

1) Claybar - you won't believe it
2) Talk to Juztang at Obsessive Detail re: polishes, etc.

with your car, a very mild polish is all you are going to need. im sure you dont have bad swirls or anything like that. but a polish basically gets rid of all the light scratches and swirls. it sort of smooths your clear coat out. it is applied pretty much like a wax except you just rub it in until it dries out. you dont let it completely dry on the car. just go one panel at the time. im sure someone else on here can give you a better how-to on the polish use, but that is just a crash course. but you really cant mess a whole lot up polishing by hand. just dont get anything too abrasive and you will be fine. talk to justin and he will tell you exactly what you need to buy.
