Default Porter Cable Polisher

What national chain carries the porter cable 7424? I'd like to find a store where I can physically pick one up and use it this weekend. I've searched online at Home Depot, Lowes and Sears with no luck.

Any suggestions?

I don't think you will find the Porter Cable at any of the national chains. Lowes was carrying them and they just closed them out.

If you did buy one at a local place you still wouldn't be able to use it. You will still need the backing plate that accomodates the pads plus the different pads.

I have Porter Cable kits put together the will save you some money. I have the basic kit that has the Porter Cable, backing plate, white polishing pad, orange light cutting pad, and gray fnishing pad. I also have kits that include everything that I mentioned plus medium and light swirl removers.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Juzstang - I looked on your site and didnt see anything about the PC for sale. What page is that on?

Also, I'm looking for this polisher for my '98 Durango, not ready to use it on the 07 GT just yet. I figured I'd practice on my Durango first. I'll try not to hijack this post, but the Durango was seriously mistreated over the last couple of years (I was out of the country.. wife only washed with the drive thru). Anyway, I'm left with some serious paint defects (see attached photos). The white spots probably came from either bird crap or tree sap that was left on the paint). Then there is a bit of rust. I'm not looking to make the truck look like new, but I'd like to protect it from further damage, and get it as nice as possible (its just used for short trips to Home Depot now) and as easy as possible. Does anyone have suggestions or know of any good links that show how I can do this?

^^ Theres the link your looking for ^^

As for the Durango, wow. All those hard water stains and neglect will come off with some work, but as for the rust and missing paint not much you can do there without repainting it. Guessing you live up north with salt and what not?

Thanks for the link DJPcustoms!

WkdRyd-a few of those spots you aren't going to be able to do anything with besides getting a repaint. For the rest of the vehicle I would start with the Poorboys SSR2.5 and a light cutting pad. Then do your final polish with the SSR1 and a polishing pad. The Poorboys polishes/swirl removers are great for a beginner. The Optimum line is excellent but requires a little more experience,

You can take your paint to a whole new level and really bring it back to life. Let me know if you have anymore questions I can help you with.
