Default Removing emblems from painted surface

I'm looking for suggestions on how to remove emblems without damaging the paint job. Thanks!

I would try to use a heat gun to soften the adhesive, and then peal off the emblem. Then, I would use a product called Goof Off ,or, (im sure someone is going to go against this because they dont know any better) use laquer thinner to remove the adhesive. Do NOT use a metal razor blade. You can find some plastic blades, and they usually work pretty good.

Use a hair dryer to heat the adhesive then use a piece of dental floss and slide behind the emblem, work the floss down through the adhesive. Once the emblem is off, use "goof off" to remove the remainder of adhesive and finish off with 70% rubbing alcohol to remove the goof off residue. Finish off with a good coat of wax. There you go.

are you just swapping emblems or taking them right off?

the fender ones have a pin that locates them, so there's a hole in the body but the trunk ones are flat...they can come right off without a mark.

the dental floss and goof off is great WITH the hairdryer.

good replacement for "goof off" is "goo gone" since you may nogt be able to find the goof off

You can also use dental floss. Just make sure its the soft kind and then just rub back and forth. A couple of my friends did that and it didnt hurt the paint at all. Im not sure if a blow drier would work, so if it doesnt I would try the floss.

The emblems on the fenders dont have any pin holes you just stick them on. The only emblem that has the pin holes is the ford emblem in the back of the car.

not very hard to do. just use fishing line and run it behind the decal to pull it off then any kind of goo-b-gone product will take car of the rest. i guess dental floss might work too but i have always used fishing line because its pretty strong
