Never used one myself but people seem to swear by them - say it makes a great difference even on a new car. I will definitely use one when I have the time to do a full detail.

I'm not gonna swear by it, but I noticed a difference. And quite frankly, my car cost me 15,400$, and is where the majority of extra money will be going. It makes sense to take care of the paint as best as possible and spending 16$ on a mother's kit was VERY reasonable. It does work. It is worth the money. What you should ask yourself is if it's worth your time. To wash, dry, clay, polish, wax, and detail spray my car, it takes me 6 hours. It's an all day project. I have to do interior detail on a seperate day because by the time I'm done I can't see straight.
Also, make sure you have access to a LOT of water. It's the only thing that keeps me going. Drink a lot while you work, so that you're alert, alive and can stay focused on doing the best job you can. Because a proper detailing is a ****ing endurance trial bested by soccer alone.
