Default 2001 Fenders Installation

I have 2 new fenders for my 2001 Mustang, I would like to take off the damaged fenders and install the new fenders my self with out a body shop. I havelittle to noexperience in body work. Would this be a simple task?

You can do it yourself. It not that bad. A local body shop fixed my old Mustang and let me help with the repairs. I put the new fender on myself. The problem I had was lining it up right. It just takes time.

I haven't done an 01 but I know on my 97, I had to take the bumper and headlight off to make it easyer. You might have to take your plastic fender liner off too.
There will be bolts along the top edge, probably a few in the door jamb, at least 2 on the very bottom edge of the fender, and maybe 2 on the front edge.

Your best bet would be to look at your new fender and find out where all the bolt holes are, you will also probably need to transfer a few j-clips to the new fender. But most importantly BEFORE you try and open the door or close the hood!! Check to see if the hood/door are going to contact the fender, open the door slowly to check if its binding.

Okay, thank you very much for your help and advice. I will probably install the new fenders next weekend and do a picture review of it.
