Default 18 inch Premium rims

I was detailing my Mustang the other day and thought I'd take the rims off to clean the inside of them, it's hard to do any otherway, when Taking the rim off I was like holy crap these weigh alot. Busted out the Scale and the rears weighed in at 57.2lbs and the front were 59.7lbs... needless to say I'm really looking into different rims now, I need something lighter.

Don't know if this is old info but I haven't seen it posted anywhere.

Hey Gilmore25,

I am guessing that is the weight of the tire/wheel combo and not just the wheel. I have stock 18" Fanblades on mine and they weigh about 27 lbs/ea + tire weight. I have been looking for lower weight wheels, and thelightest I have found so far are 17x8.5 Gram Lights 57F at 16 lbs/ea + tire weight. Shaving 44 lbs sounds good, but like everything else, it comes at a price = $500/ea. From what I have been seeing, most of the AL wheels that fit our cars weight in around the mid to high 20's. Take a look at Tirerack.com, they tell you the weight of the wheels and you can even see what they will look like on your car

I believe the weight is listed on tirerack.com. They DO have these wheels on there. If I recall, they were not much different in weight then other wheels I was looking at.

Yes this is Rim/tire weight. The Fan blades Look good just hate to have that much weight.
