Default Wheels and calipers

What's up guys. I'm in the process of buying new rims and calipers to dress up my '03 GT. But I don't have any experience with installing parts of that nature. Can anyone who's self installed either of these things give me some insite as to how difficult the installations will be? And wether or not I'd be better off just paying to have everything installed. Also any tips or tricks to make the install easier would be greatly appreciated.

Well with the calipers you should look into just painting them. All you have to do is clean them and buy some brake paint. And with the rims, having the tires mounted should be done but someone unless you know what you are doing. But putting them on is easy, jack the car up, take the bolts off, take the old rims off, put the new ones on, tighten the bolts (hand tighten first to make sure you don't strip to bolt) and then, drop the car.

Yeah just use brake caliper paint for your rotors and maybe buy some decals for them?? or you can get them powdercoated to make them look really nice! You should leave the wheels/tires to proffessionals. If you buy new wheels they usually put them on for free.. so thats something to think about as well. Either way if you wanna get new calipers get 4 piston calipers with 13" rotors. They cost $$$ but look the best....

Thanks guys, you've helped alot. I've decided have my calipers powdercoated, and my tires mounted proffesionally. THe only question I have left is...How do you take calipers off? ^^ lol

If you look at the calipers youll know how to take them off. The only pain in the a** is the 2 screws that you have to untighten. Alot of people have trouble with it. The only thing about powdercoating is that youll need to take them off and not have them for a couple days meaning you wont have your car for that time. But it looks the best, and its well worth it. I recommend doing the calipers BEFORE you get your new wheels so that you wont have to take your new wheels off and risk having your wheels/lug nuts grinded down by the impact gun. Alot of people that have cobra wheels have that problem. So just do the calipers first to be on the safe side. Remember better to be safe than SORRY!!!
