Default targa?

does anyone have or know anyone that has the targa top kit installed on their car? i'm thinking of getting one( i think they look cool) and i want to see what the interior ends up looking like after the install. i think it'd look something like this.

I don't know of anyone who has it done, but I've read on the boards here that it isn't very reliable when the top is on there... apparently some say it leaks and in addition doesn't line up right like it should if it was never cut at all.

Someone other than myself probably knows more about it though, I'm just relaying what I've heard.

If you can get a leak free/soundproof fit, go for it. I think they look sweet. Like having a vert without the xtra weight. You will wanna get some subframe connectors with it though. you will gain a lot of of unwanted chassis flex by cutting the top.

the kit i want to get comes with a subframe connector. i think they look so cool but if the interior ends up looking choppy or it leaks i don't want to do it.

I agree that you'll want subframes. Any chasis stiffing would be helpful.
I know JMS makes a kit. Not sure who else does. I suspect it wouldn't be too bad regarding leaks if it's done right. Fortunatly mustangs are a good candidate for targa tops because the doors dont go around the top of the window. If you're gonna do it, then go for it now so you can enjoy it all summer.

Suddenly you've passed into "Why don't I just buy a cobra" territory.

i don't know what's worse the fact that i said that
5300
2500
800
1000
1350

added up to 18,150 or that nobody called me on it. it's actually a much more reasonable 10950
