My tint has bubbled beyond bubbleness. I tried to take it off after reading some tips on it and what has happened is the tint came off in little tiny pieces and the adhesive is still on. I dont want to wreck the electric defroster lines so Im unsure of how to go about this now. Is there a certain chemical that works good? Ill try Methyl Ethyl Keytone next, someone told me that takes everything off.

 

The same thing happened to me, I used one of those chemicals to take off sticker residue. My driver's side cleaned up real nicely, but my passenger side still has about half the adhesive on there. It might take a little elbow grease, but it should eventually come off. Just be careful not to spill any chemicals on your interior, it might cause the interior panelsto dryand evetually fade or crack. Just my .02. Hope this helps.

 

Whenever dealing with tint, I always take it to a shop. I'd rather professionals do it the right way once than try to do it myself and have to do it a few times.

 

If all you have left behind is glue, go buy some 'goo-gone'. It smells like oranges and it works like a charm.

Lay down some towels on your upholstry and soak a rag in goo-gone. It'll come off easier than you'd think.

 

I actually just removed some old tint last week before getting it redone. I was going to do the soak-and-cover-with-garbage-bag method until someone told me to try using a steamer. Takes a while (and a lot of sweat form the heat), but I had no issues with the defroster lines on the rear window. Just for the hell of it, I ripped off some of the tint off the front windows without steaming (heard it wasn't as bad as the rear), but it left the adhesive on. Ran it through with the steamer and it came off easily. In any case, the steamer seemed to do the trick. I read in some other forumthat some people have used heat guns with some success as well?

 

Razor blade, microfiber towel,and window cleaner. I use Gunk Off...I think that's the name, you can buy it at Wally-World in the Automotive section and it has a purple top.Just spray it on and start sliding the blade over the window. It will come off in nice little sticky clumps and when your done go over it again this time using the towel. For the defrost lines just use the blade inbetween the lines and you won't have a problem.

 

When I had the tint shop redo my tint they just used a heat gun to heat the tint and then pealed it off.
