Default old oxidized paint

I pulled my 88 mustang out of a field. Theblack paint is oxidized but not badly scratched or damaged. What should I do to revive the paint? Reminds me of the the old Nu-finish commercial with the car in the junk yard.

if the clear is gone their insn't much to do. maybe try "presto". its a clear coat rub on thats rather expensive. if you still have a clear coat, try buffing it out with like a 1500 grit compound and buffer. then polish, the wax. if that doesn't work, try wetsanding a spot with 1500 or 2000 grit sand paper then repeating the other steps i just said. i don't know how bad it is say i can't say precisly... have fun.

88:

Your best bet is to use a machine (buffer, PC, etc) with some compound to cut the oxidation. DRI WASH 'n GUARD OxyGone is formulated just for oxidized paint

Is the paint just oxidized or does the paint show the typical "Black car left in the field under the sun since 1988" spider webbing appearence to the paint? If its just oxidized, you can recover it fairly well with a good detailing using a PC. If its the later, a strip and paint will be your only avenue.
