im pretty sure painted stripes will cost between 1000-1500 to get them done right.

 

really that seems really high, considering they dont need to match anything!

Different shops will have different prices and depending on the skill and experience of the person doing them will depend a lot on the quality. I think you will find the cost to be more in the $400 to $500. range for a good set of painted stripes with coats of clear.
Maybe look into a MAACO Paint and Body Shop Service Center or similar place to have them painted. I know some feel that places like that do cheapy paint jobs, but like you said they are stripes and won't have to do the whole car or match anything.
Just a few thoughts.

I had mine painted on my 06 GT and it cost $1000. The guy that did it said he would never do the job for $100 again. He said he enjoyed doing it but didn't make much money once he factored in all the labor.

 

i did 2 sets of racing stripes and one set or side rocker (shelb) stripes and they were all around the 1200 to 1800 range, the reason for htis is the first set i had taped them out my self the second i had a reverse viynl set cut and put on, painted and then pulled off, cleared and they came out fine (rocker stripes def used viynl) but depending on where you are i could prob get a good deal for you.....
