Not to take away anything from Justin on this one, but I have been using the cheapy multi paks from Meijer (assuming the same as Costco, Walmart, etc...) for nearly 4 years now and have yet to find swirls or anything related to them. They seem to be just fine to me Now I will say this....I don't try to get extended use out of them. I use them for one season and retire them to my "garage stack" of rags. After I wash them (with only other MF's of course) I designate the totally clean ones for paint use only, and the stained ones get other duties (interior, engine, etc....)

What it really comes down to is ya get what ya pay for. Of course if you buy the super ultra mega economy pack with 67 and a half towles at wally world for 35 cents theyre gonna suck ***** and feel like Earls scraggly man face next to the snuggle bear soft ones from OD. BUT wal mart sells some higher quality ones too that are just a soft.
