Well a garage only solves part of the problem (and mine is garaged every night). I'm more concerned about snowfall during the day while my car is in an open parking lot.

And I agree, I hate driving around with chunks of snow blowing off hitting the people behind me...

I'm really liking the idea of the microfiber wash mitts... keep a few in the car, use each only once before washing it, etc. Seems like a good use for the somewhat worn ones that rotate out of washing duty.

haha no brush. Use a tarp. Takes 10 seconds and one flick of the wrist and all the snows off. Took my family 20min to dig out there cars, took me 1 minute in my pj's. My mustang is also a daily driver.
