Whos a good painter? Engine bay questions...
Goin' to do the base coat on the '67 engine bay and dashboard this weekend if the weather holds out. Which there is a slight chance it won't. But I have a few questions about sanding...
- Now between base coats you sand, which grit to use?
- Do you sand any of the clearcoats?
Any other tips would be great as well, I'm a noob to painting- figured I'd get some answers before I go to it, don't want to screw it up!
I have just recently heard that using the basecoat/clearcoat process in the engine bay will cause it to peel with the heat or that aren't resistant to oil. Is this true? Any personal experiences? What about a single stage paint?
