Great idea!

Did you take before-during and after pictures with process of each picture for a good write-up?

If so, I say it would be something that could/would help alot of members and make for a great post!

i would say do it if you feel. personally i would think its self explainatory. prep, prime, paint, clear.

Also, for those painting their wheels ( it urks me when a person calls them a rim as thats only part of a wheel) when you go to clear and you are using a paint gun i would recommend using PPG's DCU2021 clear.

It is a VERY hard clear, you have to take your time though as it literally can not be wet sanded like a standard clear can be.

Alright, what i did was i went to napa and i bought flat black spray paint ($4) its by Krylon, and its called "Rust Tough". I personally like the results from a really heavy duty spray paint like this, than just the dupli color spray paint.
Your going to need about 150 sand paper. AND 300-1000 sand paper

First remove all chrome finishing, anything that doesnt really serve a purpose. Go over each rim with the 150. VERY VERY VERY well, get every corner and cranny, every inch. THEN with the nicer paper, smooth out any deep chips or any flaws.

Sanding is so extremely important so the paint can latch on to it, so take the time. i spent at least an hour per wheel if not 2 hours.

This would take like half the time if i had a temp set of tires but i don't. I Jacked up the front of the car and took off the two fronts. lay them down, and you will see alot of places you missed that you couldnt before. Be sure to get down in the lug nut wholes, EVERY WHERE!!

Once you have your wheel completely sanded down take KleanStrip Lakquer Thinner (paint thinner) and rub down every inch of it. This is crucial. And dont be shy with it, use lots. makes sure there is no dust no nothing on them. Let them dry for a little bit.

I would recommend doing this on a DRY hot day to cut down on time. But after that its time to paint. I sprayed and let them dry for about an hour. then did about 5 coats. once you have your last coat, be sure to let it sit atleast over night so it can get really dry and cure. Cause the first two weeks or so it will chip easily.

I let mine sit with out washing for probably around two weeks and was really careful with them. so far there are zero chips and i get compliments on them every where. Just take your time, its worth it. i had my tires off from friday to sunday night and they look factory.

Any questions just message me. i would go out and take pictures but its to dark out.
