Default Window Cleaning

So I bought my stang used. Evertime I wash it or there is condensation on the windows, I can see the writing from when the car was auctioned off. They must have used some type of wax pen or something, because no matter how I scrub, it still shows up.

Any ideas on how to get rid of this?

i always wash my windows with newspaper and window cleaner. sparkly clean every time. if it was a wax pen, just try some wax remover that you would use on paint.

On occasion I can't seem to get my windows clean no matter what so I resort to using a solvent; the same stuff I use to prep any surface that I'm going to apply 3M tape to. Seems to do the trick.

+1 on windex and newspaper but also try claybar.... It will get rid off the stuff nothing else can and you should use it on the entire car at least once a year.

A little rubbing alcohol usually gets rid of those pesky grease pen marks too.

well i dont think the not so fresh clay would scratch anything but just get a new bar and cut off small pieces and use them. the whole folding over thing just aint so good IMO

I used to work for a Ford dealer as a detailer and we actually used fine or ultra fine steel wool on the windows. Good for hard water stains, bugs/tar, grease pens, and just about anything else that gets itself stuck to the glass. Just make sure the window stay well lubed with glass cleaner or water and keep the wool off the paint.
