Default hard water marks

over the years since i moved out of my parents house (we had well/soft water) the washes kept leaving and building up water marks or stains left all over the car. i can pretty much wax them out of the paint, but the marks have just stayed on the glass, rear window in particular.

ive never clay bared my car and im wondering if i would be able to use the clay bar on the outside of the glass to get the windows sparkling clean again? or would it mar the glass at all?

any tips on how to get the hard water (maybe calcium deposits??) off the glass? windex does nothing....

I would give Zaino Z-12 Clear View Glass Polish a try. That stuff works amazing!

claying your glass is perfectly fine, as a matter of fact i recommend doing it before you apply any rainX or sealant to the glass. it usually helps whatever you put on there bond better. However, the clay will most likely do nothing to the water marks. glass is very hard, which means it's hard to etch, likewise it's hard to "correct". you can try a vinegar/water @ 50:50 ratio. if that doesn't work, you'll need to polish the glass.

i use clay on the glass as well (then put sealant), will get rid of some of the water spots, but if its there long enough that it etches then a claybar isn't enough to get rid of them.

Is also a good way to remove those marks, worked wonders on my friends rear window of her cobra. Just don't use it on a tinted window.

no i havnt tried steel wool yet... ive tried everything else, all sorts of different cleaners, auto and household and nothing. i tried clay barring it, nothing.

next i guess ill try something a little more abrasive... that or i may need to try polishing the glass out. i think the window is just etched bad at this point.
