I too used to use CD2 constantly!
Ok, I have not cleaned my engine bay and I bought my car over 2 years ago. What ALL do you need to cover? Battery, alternator, COP's, fuse box are a given, what is the best way to cover these up without any worry about damaged being caused?
I'm not a newbie to cleaning engine bays. My first car, an 86 Olds Cutlass with a 350 (no electronics except a radio, HAHA) and second car was a 93 Probe GT. I used peices of trash bag to cover and tie around the "danger zones."

This engine looks like it needs a lot covered.
Thank you,
Phil
I use trash bags and on those areas in bold and as long as the fuse box has a cover you dont need to cover that. I usually never on my customers cars cover much of anything as long as you dont put a full force spray of water on the above areas. I never had any issues but for the stang I take extra precautions. Start the car after go for a drive around the block a few times to get the water out of the nook and crannies where it might want to pool. Once you return home pull out the CD2 after drying the engine bay completely with a towel or something and spray the entire engine bay- whether tis paint, plastic, or rubber the stuff works great and puts a nice shine and protective coating on everything. DO NOT spray the belt or the alternator but everything else can get a blast of the CD2 engine detailer!!!! The go for a 15-20 min drive right after applying (avoid dusty areas like dirt roads and construction sites) and then let the car sit after for as long as you can tolerate or until you have to use the car again. The next day pop the hood and check your work. If you missed any areas touch them up and enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
