I just picked up a 1997 mustang Gt the other day for dirt cheap. The car looks ok but needs paint bad! Although I don't have much money for paint I was thinking of paitning it hot rod black of flat black for the time being since its already faded black lol. Has anyone done this? I would like some opinions of this! The car with have black FR500 with polished lip as well as smoked light lenses!
Any input will help me make a choice

I wouldn't do it, but it's your car.

 

you don't want it flat black, especially if it is a DD. We have a car in our shop that is satin black and you have to wash it just right and dry it just right. if you rub it too hard in one spot then it smooths the paint out and it becomes shiny. No way would i go with flat black, but its your car.

 

Depending on the actual condition of the car...you could possible save the paint with a buffer.

Tons of people have painted their cars flat black. It looks like flat black!
