Default Fake Badging

I have a '98 yellow V6 and it's a "Steeda" clone. I looked at what Steeda puts on their V6 mustang and I just installed what they did. I've put the badging and stickers on the car also and it looks dead one like a real Steeda 'Stang. The only thing about it is it has not been serialized with a numberby Steeda. It's not a Q400 or a Q351 nor would I ever degrade Steeda by telling other people that it is. I tellpeople it is a Steeda car but it has not serialized by Steeda and it has exactly the same parts that Steedauses to build theirs. Is this ok or am I making a mockery of Steeda and theREAL Steeda 'Stangs?I realize it is not a rip-roaring V8.

I would take the badging and stickers off, find a way to cover up the Steeda on the bumper and leave it at that, but that's just me.

If it was wrong to put the badging and stickers on cars then these companies such as Steeda, Roush and Saleen wouldn't make them available to the public. It's free advertising for them anyway. Most people never get lucky enough to own those rare cars so if it makes me or you feel better about your car then go for it.If it's not real thenjust be honest when other people ask you about your car and don't lie to them about it. However, putting a cobra emblem on a 4 pot orV6 is pretty....well, you fill in the blank.

I never said it was wrong. If I were to put a kit on myself, I would remove the aftermarket badging.

i put on a front saleen bumper, and side scoops, because i thnk they look really tight. i left all my gt badging on, because im defintly not even trying to be a clone. im wondering what other stangers think when they see me. do you think my car looks good, or do you think im trying to pose as a saleen, or that its a slopilly thrown together stang??? http://www.cardomain.com/id/normanbaites

Your Mustang looks fine. I just can't stand the writing on the rear bumper that doesn't match the true model of the car.

a guy i know in upstate mustang club has a 02 GT w/a procharger and complete saleen kit (complete with the number on the bumber and all). he's one of the few that i'm not going to talk sh*t to for fake badging...even though i'd slap a running pony on it and go to a stock V6 look...but that's just me.

I say if you want your car to look a certain way then build it that way and who cares what other people think. If you look at those Cobra kit cars at car shows, they look like the real thing and some sound like the real thing and they have the badging on them. If you were to tell the owners their cars look stupid and it's a joke you mayfind yourself laying on the ground with some injuries. Plus it's just low class to put down other's cars when they've worked hard on it and spent alot of money on it. Carroll Shelby used to say "it's not a Cobra unless I build it". So maybe thatCobra badge shouldn't be on the newer Cobrassince he didn't build it and IF the badging is thatannoying to somepeople. Put what you want on your car and drive.
