Default New decals

Well, I put new decals on my car yesterday. By Myself ! For the most part they turned out really nice. I love the Horseplay windshield banner.

However, I bought the hood scoop inlay from muscle mustang.com. Whoever packed the decal folded it over several times and put creases in it. Being new to this, I assumed they knew that the creases would come out when I applied the decal. I did everything I could to get them out. And did a good job of it. But when you look at it close up you can still see them. I am so dissapointed. I emailed them and hoping to get a positive email back. I got my other decals from another site and they were rolled with no creases and they look great. Anyone else have this problem before? Or know some secret to fixing it? I think they should send me a new one.

I would email them as you did, and ask for a new decal to be sent without any damage to them. Normally vendors would respond and give u a new one. If not, I hope you payed with CC call up the cc company and dispute it.

I ordered these chrome metal lettering that fit in the corvette emboss in the back, they didnt stick at all because they were so small. Sent them an email, i got a refund, and they payed for the shipping for me to send them back.

Well I told them in my email I wanted them to send me a new decal. I am not sure were else to find the inlay. This one came with a pinstripe border.
The other decals I bought all from a different place (he didnt carry the inlay) and they were much better quality. And they were 3m. I trust 3m products. We own our own business ( manufacture tube amplifers,do speaker repair, and we sell car sub box plans on our website) and we use some of 3m products and they are always reliable.

Anyway, I just spent the day in the sun putting on the rest of my decals and I am pleased with the outcome. A little too much sun though (didn't help that I went waterskiing in the morning too). I am waiting on new wheels to arrive. My husband surprised me with some cragars. I know old school, but I love them. As soon as they arrive we will be tire shopping. So nice of him to do this considering he is totally into his 72 Monte Carlo. Which I admit is really sharp and really fast. A lot of good times in that car.

As soon as I can I will put a new pic up of the car completed.

I realize this is kind of a bump, but I was reading & wondering.. Could he have let the decals lay out in the sun on a flat surface and then as it warmed up some or maybe all of the creases would have disappeared?

It might have helped with the ripples in the decals. I layed my racing stripes out after cutting them, as recommended by the guy I bought them from in order to make them easier to work with. It was easier to peel them off the backer paper I think
