Default Door vinyl coming off HELP!!

This is the 3rd time this past year that my vinyl has come loose from my door panel. The drivers side door is starting to come loose. I keep my Stang IMMACULATE and never use things like armor all on the inside. Ford suggested I spray the adhesive spray and it worked the first time for 3 months , the 2nd about 90 days and last week it lasted a day. I am cleaning the door very well before I glue it back on.

Can anyone tell me what type of glue to use so it will stay and not fall back down? I can add a pic if someone tells me how

Thanks

I have no experience with this but are you sure you are cleaning in prpoerly? I sound like it's contaminated with something. That's all I can think of.

I'm assuming you have one of the s197s as this is a fairly common problem (at least for those of us who live in the heat and humidity). You'll want to get some of this

http://www.dap.com/product_details.a...=46&SubcatID=8

and some of those cheap foam brushes. Be sure and apply TWO coats, following the instructions on the can. The contact cement will become tacky as it dries. Pay special attention around the edges as this is an area that is more likely to get missed.

There's actually already a good write up for it here

I wouldn't mess with scrapping off the foam though, it just makes a big mess and doesn't make a difference as long as you apply two coats.

I'm a auto upholstery/trim shop guy. This notion that the Ford dealer doesn't know about this problem is comical. This is VERY common on '05 to '07 'Stangs.

My shop repairs the door panels of 5 to 7 Mustangs from Ford dealers per year and I'm in a very rural area with relatively few Mustang owners.

I own a vinyl shop and have had numerous people come in with this exact problem. I've noticed that ford uses an economy level vinyl, when in fact it should be using a premium. I suggest to my customers to completely remove it and have it redone is some high level 10 year+ vinyl.
