Paint!!!! help
I know that whether or not you want single stage, or color/clear along with the actual color itself will dictate most of the price. What color are you looking to have it painted?
I can't imagine someone doing it for less than materials + $500 (probably being realllllllyyyyyyy generous on that number)
If you know how to mask and prep or you felt brave enough to learn you could probably get it ready for the painter and save some money.

I wish you luck finding someone, honestly.
However, for that 1200-1800 depending how much is used for labor and how much is used for materials could mean the difference between a paint job that looks good for 1 year, or 10 years with the same level of care. That's my only point...
TL;DR: You get what you pay for.

Not to mention that a single door dent can take price up and therefor what about the big ones. Scratch to the primer or metal will need way more sanding time to level the area out. Also if there is some rust or stone chips. Your best results of getting the closest accuracy on $$$ is taking many close eye view pictures of the car, especially on the damages and send it to possible painter. Then you have ruled out mostly any change of the painters demands on raising $ in the progress.
