I have found over my many years that good paint and body work is best left to the experts. If inexperienced people try to do the work it will show. Save your money up and then get it done right. Since I don't have to drive your car or be seen in it I guess its your choice in the end. Lots of information on the internet by googling so it shouldn't be too hard to find step by step instructions. Good Luck....

there is nothing wrong with doing the prep work yourself. prep work is by far easier and cheaper than just taking it to a paint shop. what you always want to do is start with some pretty rough sandpaper and sand the whole thing down nicely until the paint you have looks cloudy, the wash it off to see if you missed ANYTHING. start the process over with a finer grit paper, then finer, finer and finer. pick up some duplicolor prep wipes they are like degreaser towels. wipe the bumper down with this, let it dry and now you are ready to primer, use some sandable primer from duplicolor, the color doesnt really make a difference just use ur head. go back and forth in a sweeping motion and apply a very light coat, then do it again in 10 minutes with a little heavier of a coat, then 10 more minutes and give it a nice coat, you can give it another in 10 minutes if you want but that should be enough. then you want to let it dry overnight. sand it with like p800 then p1000. use another prep wipe on the surface and now its ready for paint.
