Window Tint Question (back window)
I recently re-tinted my windows with legal tint, the solution I used, froze between the window & tint as the heater in my garage shut off and I didn't have the slightest clue, the tint looks like it has stains on it, I really need a good 2-3 days of 30-40 degree weather so it'll defrost and evaporate! </P>
Silver, a good way to look at window tinting : all you are doing is putting on a big semi-transparent sticker. It's really not as difficult as most people think it is. If you can shave without cutting yourself - you can put on window tint...</P>
If you'd like to try it yourself, I can go find the tutorial I wrote & submitted to some 3rd Generation F-body sites or I could write you a new one. <IMG src=smileys/smiley14.gif border="0"></P>
Just rub the tint in better. I go over itw/ a cloth then spend some timeworkingit w/ my fingers. All the cars I bought with tint (including my stang) were like that at the top. I just rub the tint in. Its only sticking to the 'dots' not the glass seeing the dots are raised from the glass. There will always be some areaslike that as the dots get denser and the tint can't get to the glass. </P>
</P>
So I could try to rubthe tintin to adhere better myself? Even after a couple of weeks?? </P>

Or should I just take it back to the shop...I have no problem getting on their case if I am justified to do so.</P><edited><editID>Daytomann</editID><editDate>38018.638599537</editDate></edited>
your tint will never stick on those the way it does on the plain glass, at least thats what my friend that tints for a living says, he said on all fox bodys the quarter window has them all areound it and they have always been a problem.
Well, I asked nicely. They said there is nothing that they can do. Then I let them know that I dont like it at all (still nicely) I told them I want to find out some options to either fix it or do something a little different and that I would call them back. They seemed accomodating. I also have a $600 Sony head unit on layaway so they better be willing to help.
I then called 3 other tint shops. One has been in business forever and is the largest and most expensive shop in town. They all said its normal for the Mustangs and theres not much you can do about it.
Well, I cant stand the way it looks, call me **** [:-] but I think it looks like ****! SO, heres what I want to do......I am thinking of having the shop that did the tinting cut the tint around the area with the dots and remove it. Then I want to paint the area with the dots black. Is there any paint or coating that anyone can recommend to do this? ANY suggestions would be appreciated.
THANKS!
