Default Question about paint on a spoiler

I have a 95 without a spoiler, and I want to buy a painted (same color code as my car) factory stock style spoiler, but I first need to know if the paint on an 11 year old car has faded so much that the colors on the body and the newly-painted spoiler will be noticably different.

yes the color would be off. although if the paint on your car is in pretty good shape, i wouldnt be that concerned. what color is your car? do you have any exterior mods? my car is red, i have black tail covers, headlight covers, i pained my side scoops black and my spoiler black and i like the way it looks. and i will be gettig my black saleens.

I got the car about a month ago, and the paint seems to be in good condition. The color code is WJ, which is called opal frost. It is basically silver that is a little bluish. I have no exterior mods. Here are a few pics:

What spoiler are you gonna go with? the saleen s-281 wing looks sweet on those years!!! but yeah most body shops dont use the factory paint anymore because of these exact situations, they now use a device that they put on the car and it reads it an tells them the formula for the paint color then they mix the paint so they can match the existing paint on the car but its not perfect its about 90% accurate... so in your case they wouldnt paint the spoiler with the factory paint they would usually take something off ur car like your gas door and match it, thats what they did to mine....

Also silver is a tough color to match so make sure you go to a well known body shop....

I want to keep it simple and just get the style that the cars came with when they were new. The only thing is that I was planning on buying it online already painted. If I were to buy it unpainted, about how much would it cost to bring it to a shop to be painted the way that you said yours was done?

Thanks for your help guys

ask a body shop, they might be able to match your paint exactly.

If you bought it already painted then it wouldnt match a body shop will match it for you tho... you should buff the sh*t outta your car and then take it to a body shop and get it painted it wont look outta place and they can match it almost perfectly...
