Is there any good way to totally clean a 4.6 without hurting any coponents

 

have the car running with hood open, buy Gunk citrus engine degreaser. spray it everywhere on the engine, let it soak for a but. use a hose to spray it powerfully, a power washer is the best though.

so a power washer wont hurt any of the engine components?

 

I wouldn't use a power washer [&:] Too much risk there - just use your garden hose nozzle on a full or jet setting. Don't spray the degreaser or water DIRECTLY on the distributor or altenator.

 

just dont directly spray it on any electrical, battery, fuse box, coil packs, intake, alt, hot headers, or any wires. just be very carefull, i do mine about every 3 months with Griats engine cleaner, and it looks better then the day i got it.

 

actually a power washer is best at a safe distance. im not talking about holding 2 inches away. plus its safer than using a garden hose.
