Default Removing stubborn stains?

I am trying to get my dad's old truck clean for him so he can sell it. I have got it all looking very clean except for the stains on the carpet, mainly the driver's side. He had a hold in his dash or something like that that was leaking water into the cab. Now there are big stains left from rusty water that was allowed to soak into the carpet for who knows how long. Anybody know of any good products to try or know of any homemade conkoctions(sp?) that might work? I have tried a couple ordinary home carpet cleaners combined with elbow grease and nothing has really made any progress. Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks...

try some type of pet stain remover i think they may be stronger, also you could buy new floor mats to cover it

Rust stains will be very hard to remove. Ive used simple green to clean auto carpet and it works quite well. Never tried it for rust, but give it a try and see how it turns out.
