taking to long for idle to drop from cold start

Well it is always good to keep it simple! I suggest if you are able to do so, take a look inside the throttle body by loosening the clamp on the intake tube that will expose the throttle body intake. If you see that it has carbonized (very black and dirty) it will need to be cleaned. The butterfly may be hanging up slightly and sometimes it doesn't take much for this to happen. Once the engine begins to heat up all components will expand and this is why you may be experiencing a high idle condition and hanging when the engine is cold. If all checks out to be clean, time to put your car on the computer for some diagnostics. Good Luck!!!!!!
