Default Question about SS wheels

My cousin and I are in debate over whether or not SS wheels were offered on 68 cars. I don't think they were. Does anyone know for sure? Im just curious

yes they were although i dont think they were refered to as "SS" wheels but as stly steel wheels as were the 65-67, but yes they were offered as an option, early cars came with a trim ring on them while the later ones were a one piece wheel, an could be ordered in all chrome or in a lot of cases painted argent. hope it helps

Doesn't SS stand for style steel? I don't know.....just thought I would ask for future reference. Here is an aftermarket 14" style steel wheel. Looks very similar to my Mag 500's.

Yeah, I was just saying SS instead of typing out styled steel. So they were an option through 68?

I guess so. At least according to this.

"Fact: styled steel wheels are part of the 68-69 GT equipment group."

You may be right, but Ideal was asking about the 68.

The SS wheel on a 68 looks entirely different than the 65-67. I have the 67 (blue center cap vs red on 65 and 66) and the 68 looks completely different. Here's the 67:

I'm talking about the ones like in mugsy's picture. The 68's had the chrome ones with the little dogdish hubcap in the center, right?
