My cousin and I are in debate over whether or not SS wheels were offered on 68 cars. I don't think they were. Does anyone know for sure? Im just curious
yes they were although i dont think they were refered to as "SS" wheels but as stly steel wheels as were the 65-67, but yes they were offered as an option, early cars came with a trim ring on them while the later ones were a one piece wheel, an could be ordered in all chrome or in a lot of cases painted argent. hope it helps
Doesn't SS stand for style steel? I don't know.....just thought I would ask for future reference. Here is an aftermarket 14" style steel wheel. Looks very similar to my Mag 500's.
The SS wheel on a 68 looks entirely different than the 65-67. I have the 67 (blue center cap vs red on 65 and 66) and the 68 looks completely different. Here's the 67:
