ok, we have done some things with the server to hopefully repair this issue...especially for those using comcast...

 

Same problems here, im on AOL. Same problem with AOL 9and with IE 7.

This is the only site that does it.

Slow loads. Sometimes it lasts for 1 minutes, no joke. Ive left the room and came back hoping it was working, but nothing loaded except a white screen with banners at the top. In the last 2 weeks, i cant even sign into MFwith AOL, it freezes my computer. But IE works, slowly.

Even on IE its slow going. I have let the computer sit for 5 minutes and the page still hasnt loaded. Ive left the room for a good 10-15 minutes and still nothing was loaded.

Once i do get in and click a thread, it either doesnt load or it takes a good minute at times.

When i am able to post it posts ok, but it takes maybe 30 seconds for the 'message posted successfully' screen to finish.

Sometimes the site works fine but still slow. During these instances, ill read a few threads and as soon as i post just one reply, everything goes downhill from there. Slow load, no load, or i cant get into any other threads without constantly going back and back and back. Sometimes i have to close MF and start over.

Ive gone over settings and cleared cookies, caches, numerous restarts with no change in this sites performance, and even tried defragging the computer. No change.

This is the only site that gives me this grief and i must say it is unnacceptable. Any changes i make here do not affect the other sites i visit. I have no longer recieved responses from this site for feedback on what may be wrong, i guess they gave up?I have read the help pages and saved them. Unfortunately they are of no help since it doesnt fix anything.

Perhaps the server needs a complete overhaul, or a replacement? Something is not right and is angering many of us. If for one am losing my patience and am about to go elsewhere. I really dont want to as this is a great site...when it works.

Admin and moderators know about the problems with the website and they are working on them. They have reciently made some changes including moving this site to it's own dedicated server. It used to share the server with a couple of the other sites that the admins also run. This should really help with the speed of the site, but these things take a little time to get straightened out. Your best bet to get information/help with the situation is to send a PM to Ride Of The Month. He has direct contact with the admins and the owner of the site and can relay the information to where it needs to go.

Problem solved, for now.

Signed up with another ISPthe other day and everything works very very well with this site now. Load times dont take much more than a few seconds. I had dialup which i know isnt the best but others with dialup had no problem navigating this site. Wierd.I have a broadband connection now. Just sign in with my new ISP and open IE to sign into MF. No problems.

I cant sign into this siteat all using AOL as my ISP. My computer freezes on the MF homepage like 9 x out of 10 whether im ondialup or broadband but signing in thru IE works with no problems. I have 6, not 7. Oops. My bad. A friend of mine has 7 and has the same problems i did with AOL as an ISPso i dont think its an IE problem. Has to be AOL.

So i can sign in here now no problem with my new ISP thats almost $10 cheaper. Sweet.

thats odd, as when i was having problems, i could ONLY get on with AOL...
