I normally use the keyless entry to lock my car when I walk away. However, today for some reason it "beeped" at me. Normally it beeps twice when a door is open or the like. However I have slammed both doors and the trunk. I have also made sure that the lights were all off inside, to include the dome light (that is normally turned on by turning the light switch pass the click) . The only thing I get is the dome light stays on and the keyless entry beeps twice. I couldnt figure what the issue was, so I pulled out the dome light as not to drain the battery and came and consulted you guys.

I know on my 96 when I hit the button twice it makes the horn beep. Maybe you should try that.. Because if I just hit it once, it turns off the dome light and locks the doors.

 

yes, i know that. i normally hit it twice to get it to beep. however now when i hit it once it beeps twice like a door is open or something, but there isnt.

 

My '99 Mustang does this periodically. Don't know why. Although I suspect a loose connection in one of the door switches. If someone could help me remove these, I might be able to fix it. However, you shouldn't have to pull the bulb. The computer should shut them off within 30 minutes.[&:]Blue99RT

 

In my old 97 taurus sho, it did that one time..it kept thinking that a door was still open and it would beep twice to let me know.. I sprayed down the latches with some wd-40 and it quit.
