what exhaust to buy for 02 GT

RE: what exhaust to buy for 02 GT
depends on what you want? deep, rumbly, race car sounding. I have a full Bassani system ($$$) and has a little rumble at idle and slow speeds, but then has a nice race car roar at WOT. x pipes are more raspy, h's are deeper. I have cats cause of the smog testing out here and they do a visual inspeection as well. go search for some exhaust note clips and hear the difference. have 4" chrome slash cut tips with the logo on them. You can get other stuff, flowmasters, LM1 or 2s and a bunch of stuff cheaper, but love that bassani, check them out on the web.

RE: what exhaust to buy for 02 GT
yea, asking what exhaust you want is a dificult thing to do...
there are SOO many options,,
the most popular probably being just buying a flowmaster catback, but then you'll be like EVERYONE else
youve really got 3 things too look at..
1. Headers, if you want the power of them, and will regret not having it later down the road, then expect to spend 300-500 on headers, and another 500+ on install
(i have a 99GT w/o headers and i still think it sounds amazing,, sure, i'd like the horsepower gains, but i couldnt justify spending another 1K on it...[8D])
2. A...Midpipe.... this was briefly explained a minute ago,, H is usually Deeper, X's a tad more raspy, and maybe a tad louder at WOT... HP gains are so similar between teh two, dont let that make your decision....
2. B... Stock H Pipe-AftermarketCatted-O/R.. ........
legal- legal illegal...........
loud- louder- loudest
if you live somewhere that does NOT have any testing, then you could most likely get an o/r pipe, but thats something you'll just have to look into
3. Catback... there are so many things to choose from here, its disgusting
Flowmaster
SLP I's, SLP II's, SLP PowerFlos or soemthing liek that
Bassanni $$$$
Borla $$$$
MAC
Steeda
Magnaflow/MagnaPack
lots and lots of choices
i have an O/R H with Borla Stinger catback,, never heard another one on the road because they are less common, and as of yet, have no regrets
