Idel to low!

RE: Idel to low!
buddy I'm not quite sure what you are talking about, but it sounds like your idle adjustment needs to be changed.
I'm not much for carburetors, but we have a 69 chevy impala that we play with. Take off your entire air cleaner on the car and have a look at the carburetor. I'm not sure on fords, but there will be several adjustment screws. Particularly follow the throttle cable to where it attaches, and on that arm/bracket there will be a screw mounted near where that arm rests. Let the car warm up, and then turn that screw in. Tightening the idle speed screw clockwise generally raises it. Do it about 1/8 a turn at a time, gun it a few times and let it settle down until you find an idle you like.
We had the same thing on the impala, had it all tuned and did a ton of work to it. ran great but idled too slow, I pulled into the driveway took air cover off and grabbed a long flathead screw driver, 1/4 a turn and it idled perfect
