Default Why does this happen...

On my new manual 2006 V6 something’s weird's going on....when I’m about to park or stop, say I was in 3rd gear and I’m about to stop: I go into neutral, im pretty much stopped I let go of the clutch and the gas (now going about 5 miles per hour) I’m braking while in neutral and the engine keeps revving up it goes up almost a 1000RPMs (just like if I was hitting the gas pedal--which I though I might of been accidentally with the side of muy foot but even when I take my feet well away from the pedals this still happens...) When that happens, if I floor the clutch than it stabilizes if not the RPMs go up and that after a little bit settle down……what‘s up….???.

Have you ever cleaned your IAC? This sounds like a textbook case of a sticking IAC valve.

Edit: Well, if you just bought it, the IAC could stand to be cleaned probably... Look around, there's tutorials on how to do it. Basically when you get it off, spray a generous amount of carb cleaner in it.

Edit again: I've found when my stang is rolling and in neutral, the RPM will stay at about 1200... as soon as I come to a complete stop, the RPMs will drop to 800. If this is what it is doing, then it's normal.
