there is a differance between what the state says and what you will get a ticket for. plus, they wont usually pull you over just for having something illegal (such as underbody lights). they will only pull you over if you have done something else wrong

yeah... virginia is a bunch of freaks... anything that's not stock is subject to being illegal... but then again... My car is now far from stock and I don't get pulled over for it... yes... the picture in my avatar is the day that I bought her... she's changed quite a bit.

it depends on where you live and if a tail pipe sniffer test is required for inspection. you can change a whole lot of stuff provided you don't disable any emissions control equipment. don't bother trying to get a dealer to do any modifications as the law won't allow them to change anything, you have to do it yourself or find a shop who doesn't worry about such things. stuff like underdrive pulleys, shorty headers, cat back exhausts, rear gears, etc. are all changable without getting in trouble with the cops. I even had an off road H-pipe with shorty headers and a 2-1/2" cat back exhaust on mine with no problems. just don't act like a jerk around the cops and you'll probably be OK.
