the F-150 block is a 4.2, which is a 3.8 essex with a longer stroke, the essex block is a modified copy of buicks stage 1 231 c.i enging found in the grand nationals

What kind of power would a modded 5.0 or 351 put out as far as you all know? Or would the extra weight over the v6 make it a pointless venture?

Sorry to seem persistant with the idea, but there's just something about the idea of having a 5+ liter in there where the 232 used to be. That and I'm thinking turbo kits would cost more than an engine swap. You can find an F-body for pretty cheap if you look enough.

I notice you are in NC, if you get rid of the OBD II you will never pass inspection since that's all they use for the emissions portion now. They plug into the OBDII port and scan the computer.

A modded 302 or 351 can make anywhere from 250 hp to 1000+ it all depends on how much you want to spend. Your trans and rearend won't live for long behind a 350hp motor let alone something making 500hp.

if modded right they will make alot of power, some one over on 3.8mustang.com however has 700 HP out of a V-6, if you turbo the essex and run 17 psi (can be done on stock internals) you can get 430 rwhp and kill a cobra, which is what i would recomend cause by the time you make a 5.0 that fast it will cost money out teh @$$

A F-body is a Camaro or Firebird, I'm pretty sure you meant fox body since you are talking about doing the swap. I just want to make sure we are on the same page. Probably don't want to start referring to fox bodies as F-bodies, it will throw people off and probably make some fox body owners mad.
