I usually put ultra 93 (sunoco) in my car and recently they added 10% eth. My car didn't run so hot so the next time I went to Exxon near my house. Now my car runs sooo much better. It could be the gas I know, but still.

I work for an oil company. Here is the real deal on the fuel prices. The reason for gas being so high is due to many reasons, most of it has to do with supply and demand. The US is the largest consumer of oil in the world. We do not make produce enough oil here in the US so we are forced to import oil from other countries like Saudi, Iran, Russia, etc. Another main reason why gas is high is because of the number of different grades of gasoline used in this country. There are 42 different blends of gas used by the 50 different states, CA and CO being the most strict as far as standards go. One way to lower the price of gas would be for every state to use the same grades, no matter if we would all use CA grade gas. This would drop the price of gas over $0.75/gal overnight. The reason it would is because the refineries that make the product would not have to shut down production to switch between the different grades. This would allow them to run year round with fewer shut downs. Other than that our government here in the US has their hands tied with the price of oil, it depends on OPEC. Which is influenced heavily by the Sheiks from the middle east. They are the ones turning the big profits.
Does the same apply for Canadians? its like $1.10/liter for 87....
1.10/liter there's about 4 liters per gallon that's 4.40 a gallon

tbh, idk exactly, we have the alberta oil sands which brings in like 7 million barrels daily, but as far as i know i think we get the majority from the us, thats why our oil prices reflect yours...

lol and i watched a cnn special last night, it was interesting, i forget what it was called.

Um, E89 is the standard here in Iowa.

89% gasoline, 11% ethanol. The Stang always got premium anyways (PI swapped) but the Yukon runs just fine on it.

i'm pretty concerned with this....is there any way to know if or when a gas station has made the switch? so it will be in all grades? my stang goes in for a new tune tomorrow so i hope it's not a waste. thanks for the heads up...i haven't heard about this anywhere else

well i just saw on the news that there is "spot shortages"....meaning there are certain gas stations that are out of fuel. the news said the reason for these shortages isn't supply, it is the switch to the federally mandated e10 fuel and the preparations that are needed before that is possible. they said it will take weeks but this is in philadelphia, pa so it is certainly across the country. i made changes to my stang that affect airflow characteristics enough that i have to retune it before i can drive it or i wouldn't mind waiting a few weeks. i am fuggin pissed! time to do research
