I think most Advance Auto and Auto Zones rent tools atleast they do here in Michigan.

Off topic here but do you really live in Dalbarton,WV? I ask because I'm heading there in May to do some riding on the Hatfield Mckoy trailsystem.

My 89 actually had the ball joint
come apart and the wheel bend over.
GOOD THING I WAS NOT DOING 60.
No way to beat out the old broken
end, even though the nut and top
half came off ok. Finally, had
to call my local shop. $75 for tow
$50 to install my NAPA purchased joint.

You can save the tow by driving it into
a local shop. They can do it much easier than
you.

Yes, I really live in Delbarton, WV. Well, actually up the road a couple miles, but it's still pretty much all called Delbarton. People love to come here and ride the Hatfield / McCoy Trail System, and I live here and haven't ridden on them once since they turned it in to that and took over those trails and started making people buy permits and all of this stuff to ride on them. Those trails were already there, I used to ride on them when I was younger, then they turned it in to a 'trail system' and you have to buy permits and everything now...so I have ridden on them, just not since they made it a business. You'll be going in on the trail head that is on top of Buffalo Mountain, it's only a few miles away from my house.

I called a shop this morning, and am probably going to be able to get them changed today.

That is cool. We will be renting a house in Dalbarton when we come down on May 4th. This is my 3rd trip to WV we usually stay in Mann, WV and ride the Rockhouse trails. I see your frustration about charging locals to ride the trails for free for years. But you should feel lucky to live in A state that has embraced the sport of ATV riding and are not trying to shut it out like every other state. Hell look at me I'm driving 10 1/2 hours to bring $ to your community because Michigan has crappy trails and the state hates ATV's

Well, I replaced the driver side one today..I went to the parts store and bought a ball joint tool. It was like $96.00 ...it is to remove them, and to press them back in...It was cheaper than the labor to get the ball joints put in (by ~$100) PLUS i'd still have the tool, so I figured eh..might as well...So I put the driver's side one in,let the car down, turn the wheel..it still squeaks...ends up, it's the tie-rod end. So I borrowed one of those needles off of my brother and greased the tie rod ends and the other ball joint...I am going to put the other ball joint in though, because the driver's side one WAS bad, even though it wasn't making noise..it was wore out...and i'm going to buy new tie-rod ends..I just greased them as a quick-fix for my nerves..I HATE hearing that squeaking.

Yea, Man isn't that far away...about an hour or so. It's not really frustration I have because of them charging now, it's that they took trails that were already in the mountains and they acted like they made them and everything..those trails were already there...and now they're charging people for them..that's what frustrates me. Our state LOVES ATV's. There was a joke floating around here for awhile about the new quarters..it was like "Have you heard about the new WV quarter?..It has a welfare check and a four-wheeler on the back"...haha..while there do happen to be a few people in the area who are dumbasses and won't get off their *** and get a job and do live off of welfare, there are more hard-working people here...as i'm sure you know, the coal mines rules this part of the country. What kind of towing rig do you have?
