Default cam

This may be a really stupid question, but I'm kinda new to this. What would be the advantage of getting a high performance cam in my '03 GT (one that would make it lope while idleing)? What kind of other mods would have to be done? What kind of cam would be suggested for an everyday driver? What kind of costs am I looking at? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

My advise would be to get a book on performance, read it cover to cover so you understand all of the engine dynamics that the cam effects then decide what you want to do to help your performance. To give you the short answer, you need to do alot more than just change your cam.
