Default bad gas mileage

I bought a 93 GT recently and have been getting about 135 miles on a tank.
I replaced the distrib cap and roter. New oil and oil filter. New gas filter.
look at signature for mods. no smell of gas anywhere on car. Runs strong.
wires are in good shape (motorcraft) and plugs seem to be fine(also motorcraft). THe gap on the plugs is small not stock. would that affect gas mileage? No check engine light. 97k miles

any ideas would be helpful
thanx

gap the plugs to at least .055", the ignition is made hotter to handle the bigger gap and a bigger spark helps burn the fuel better. you don't mention your air filter, change it too, I'll bet it's dirty as hell for you to be doing this badly on mileage.

K&N sells a recharger kit for their air filters. You can get it at most auto parts stores that sells the filters. Be sure to follow the directions so you don't screw up your filter.

it ain't the gear, it's that oversized heavy right foot on the go fast pedal that kills the mileage! lol

55 is wide enough...the key to most aftermarket igintion is not really the primary spark but the secondary sparks being as powerful as the first to complete the burn process. have very low ohm wires is also key
