Hi Mustang fans, I need help. I just bought a '98 V-6 last week. The car had a mouse get in, and he chewed some wires, etc. I fixed that stuff already. Yesterday I found the dead mouse in the right side dash vent. Yuck. I have been cleaning the vent system out to get all the droppings, etc. How do I get the two center dash vents out ? I'm a little shy about tearing into the center console without some advice on where the bolts are and what parts just need a tug. Thanks in advance.

I have taken the center out many times before on my 03. First I recommend taking the lower section out (part that surrounds the shifter). If you have an auto, turn the key and put it in D or 1, and then with your thumbs, slide the big section up. next, while at the bottom of the center sections start pulling the bottom part out and continue to pull the tabs out and it should snap right out at the top. Its very hard to explain without pictures. Hope this helps
