mustang 70 ps control valve steering problem
i have a 1970 mustang rag and im thinking of changing over to manual steering as ive got probs with the ps control valve mustangs unlimited have a adapter for $169 has anyone used it and was it any good
Yes, I used one on my former '70 Ranchero(identical suspension\front chassis to yours). It did work well & the installation is pretty simple. The problem I noticed is that the steering becomes rather difficult. Your using a power steering gearbox still & it technically is more difficult to turn than a "real" manual gearbox, centerlink, etc setup from the factory is to turn. I ended up putting skinnies on the nose(15x3.5 wheels w\165R15 tire). This change made the steering more tollerable. I still used the factory large rim steering wheel & I could not imagine using anything of smaller diameter....
